I think we’ve been to Porthmadog and Criccieth before, but couldn’t really remember much about either. It was full on big rain this morning so we didn’t even stop in Porthmadog.
Criccieth looked quite nice with its castle perched on the headland. It had turned to drizzle, so we had a quick walk around but hunger and damp clothes drove us back to the van.

On to Caernarfon, where we’ve got a great overnight parking spot for £5 posted in the honesty box. The castle here is huge, we didn’t go in today, but might give it a whirl tomorrow. There’s a few nice little streets in the town, but it also seems to have a rough end – as most towns do, I suppose.
Guy had run out of Malbec and was starting to get the shakes, so we walked slightly out of town to the big Tesco. Got back just before the next bout of drizzle.

The photographer then popped back later, at sunset, to get some more arty shots for the album 😉
