The taps that is! On getting our motorhome out of storage yesterday it seemed like everything was going wrong. Although the frost valve had dumped the main body of water, there was still some in the pipes which we’d failed to drain. Everything was in the van; we were ready to go, but all a bit pointless if the water system won’t work. We hastily plugged into the mains whilst parked on our tiny lane blocking all access.😬I got the hairdryer on the taps and Guy somehow got our frozen outside tap working so we could fill back up with water. All seemed to be sorted although not much water pressure.

We set off down the A1 a little later than expected but still hoping we could make the 5:15 pm Chunnel crossing.

We’ve decided to do things a little differently this year, so this is a mini trip really, to France and a bit of Spain for about a month. Just on the motorway towards Folkestone, I’m rifling through the file looking for Passports. Noticing the log book, I suddenly realise we haven’t taxed the van 🙄🤯…it’s not like we’ll have passed any cameras or anything! I did it there and then, so just hoping, as it’s backdated to the first of the month, that we don’t get a hefty fine. 😭

The crossing was efficient as always and we found great parking just outside Wissant.

The next event was the dripping noise from the shower. Couldn’t see any water but that was because it was all happening behind the panel. It was all in bits before I could blink and I became custodian of a thousand tiny screws.

Ice damage – not really fixable without a new bit.

Time for chilli and rice and pretend it’s not happening till morning.
