Left around 12:40 after numerous door and window checks. Called at Lowdhams for a water fill up and 2 coffees – lunch didn’t look like it was on the horizon. Very slow journey down to the tunnel. Crazy traffic and very windy. Managed to get an earlier crossing so we just had time to get the defrosted beef daube heated up (glory chef strikes again!),threw the plates in the sink and drove on to the train. When we came out the other side, it was 9pm and dark. Started to drive the slow route to Dunkirk where we planned to park facing the sea. After many roundabouts and tiny roads the final straw was when it started to sleet. Joined the motorway and here we are on the sea front! Rufus is just deciding which way round to sleep after being awake all day…who will snore first is the big question!
