The office for paying for last night’s lovely quiet parking wasn’t open until 3pm. A notice on the door suggested a cheque …a cheque??? That’s certainly not something we carry around. Only had a €50 note too and nowhere around for miles to change money. Everyone else just shrugged and walked away, so we owe them €7 if we come back this way next year. 😬
We decided to have a walk around Arcachon, forgetting what an absolute pain it is to get to…seems like it’s never going to appear. Parking was a bit difficult and as it was grey and miserable the photographer decided it wasn’t worth taking any pictures. 🙄
We did see a really weird creature in the harbour though – sort of like Batman under water but not a jellyfish as it had a kind of snout and kept coming to the surface. It was fascinating.
Had lunch on the way out, near a traffic roundabout with a creative sculpture on it.
On to Angoulême where we know there’s decent parking and a good walk uphill into the town. Again, it needed some sunshine. We thought it was getting dark on us about 4:30pm but just rain on the way.
Had a drink outside a cafe, but the passive vaping got a bit much …it always smells like juicy fruits chewing gum!
Nothing for it but a return to the van and a re-match at cards. I do think someone might be cheating..
