Off on another jaunt around France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The weather is not looking great anywhere at the moment though.
Yesterday, we drove to Lee Valley Campsite and caught the bus and train into the big city to see Jordan and Eilish. We had a fab afternoon/evening then managed to get on the right bus but going in the wrong direction 🤣🙄Good job we noticed our mistake early!
We were both wide awake in the morning as we could hear the birds singing …I was about to make coffee when Guy checked the time – 3am!!? I thought it was getting light. God knows what’s going off with our body clocks!
The kind campsite manager let Guy wash the van when it was the actual, real morning, while I opted to clean skylights from the inside.
Off to Folkestone, with a pit stop at Halfords for a foot pump that works (sort of) and a last trip around Sainsbury’s. We then went to park on the seafront for a while as our Chunnel wasn’t until 6:15.
Had a lovely walk on the cliff side path and the beach to the harbour and back. We were quite surprised at how nice it was with its Victorian hotels and beach huts.
Got put on earlier train with no extra charge so we made our way to Ambleteuse for a free park up instead of paying to stay in Calais.
The oven let us down by refusing to stay lit so we’ve had to have pan fried salmon. I reckon the van and us will smell for at least a week!
