Here we are again – not even sure where we are heading for this time, but a stop at Guy’s parents is on the cards followed by a visit to see Karen and John in Latour. After that, we plan to head for the campsite in Calella de Palafrugell and stay there for a while ( the bike is in the boot so the energetic one can wear himself out 🤣).
Had a good run down to Folkestone yesterday afternoon with no real hold ups. Surprisingly, we got put on an earlier train which meant a very rushed courgette omelette for dinner!
Long drag on the A roads towards Rouen this morning with a stop at E. Leclerc for some coffee. It was only when we got to the till with yoghurts, garlic, green beans and peaches that we suddenly remembered what we’d gone in for.

Landed mid afternoon, just south of Rouen in a little village that has recently been voted one of the ‘most beautiful villages in France’. Le Bec-Hellouin certainly does live up to the hype. It’s very pretty with its half timbered houses, flowers everywhere and an old abbey and church with very tuneful bells.
It was quite hot in the sunshine today though, so once we’d done a circuit around the village, we set off along the greenway (walking/cycling path) by the river and in the shade of the trees. It was lovely.
