Downhill to Aosta this morning. A quick stop at Lidl then drain and fill with water. Things went wrong for me at this point, when I dropped the cap from the toilet chemical stuff down the toilet 🙄…makes a change from my phone I suppose! Cue rubber gloves.

A small stretch of motorway and first road toll next, followed by a long and winding road back up into the mountains. We wanted to see the Matterhorn from the Italian side, so we’ve come to this place called Breuil-Cervinia. Seems to be a very popular place and all the little towns are like mini resorts.

We walked to the blue lake which is just a bit downhill from our parking place. Loads of people having picnics and the lake is beautiful – probably a bit cold to swim in though. We walked up the side of an abandoned bob sleigh run then waited for the clouds to clear from the mountain – which, of course, they did once we got back to the van 🙄 Guy went back down to get his shot of the day but I opted out. Both really tired today – think it must be the altitude because we’re walking like snails!
