Followed the C28 road up towards the French border this morning. It was steep and spaghetti-like with many hairpin bends and quite a bit of snow at times. Port de la Bon Aigua came first, then we passed a ski resort at Baqueira. Eventually we came over the Col du Portillon into France.
Mid afternoon by this time and we haven’t really found anywhere to walk. Seeing there was an interesting looking swing bridge just off our route, we decided to head for that. Missed the parking and somehow ended up driving up to another ski resort at Superbagnères. We knew there was overnight parking at the top but we weren’t expecting more fog along the way. The place was almost completely deserted – so eerie. Lots of slushy snow around but obviously not good enough for skiing now. Decided to head back down to the town below.
Along the way, we found the parking for the swing bridge (Passerelle Pequerin) so we went to have a look. Steep path down but it was a great bridge stretched over a river a very long way below.
On to the town of Bagnères-de Luchon – an attractive thermal spa place. We have parked at the official motorhome parking which is right next to the cemetery! 😂Should be a peaceful night.
Walked into the town but it was very quiet compared to the Spanish towns we’ve been through in the last few days.
