Apologies for radio silence – just had a couple of days in Magnan at Guy’s Mum and Dad’s, mainly eating, drinking and dog walking. There was a bit of excitement at midnight last night, when we heard a chicken outside the van. It had managed to fly out of the enclosure so had to be rounded up in the darkness. 😂🐥

We arrived in Magnan Saturday lunchtime after a tedious drive through Tarbes – all mini roundabouts and backstreet routes dreamt up for a joke by the sat nav! 🙄

Left this morning and made our way to Bergerac. Never been before and we really liked it. Parked for lunch by the Dordogne which was brown as brown can be – I don’t think I’d want to swim in it! Walked into the old town which was very higgledy piggledy in its layout. Lots of half timbered medieval houses, all holding each other up. An unusual coloured statue of Cyrano de Bergerac has pride of place in the main square, surrounded by pavement cafes. All very lovely in the warm sunshine.

Sadly, we had to move on as we only have until Wednesday night to get up to Calais – booked on the tunnel Thursday morning.

Parked for the night in a little village called Séreilhac just below Limoges. Had a walk around the fields for a leg stretch by which time the little motorhome aire has become virtually full!

Magnan to Bergerac and beyond! 25/4/22
