Through Orgiva and Lanjaron this morning on more winding roads until we reached the motorway to take us up to Granada. Pulled in at a new camper stop which seemed to be ten times easier than the campsite we stayed on back in 2019.
Had lunch and then caught the bus into the city with no real plan other than a wander around. Last time we were here, we had left Rufus in the van with the fan on, but I always felt like we’d missed something, as we’d rushed around everywhere and also got caught up in a Womens Day march.
Went in to the cathedral first, which was quite nice as cathedrals go – bright and airy.

Then we had a walk through the Albaicín district and definitely saw some areas we hadn’t seen before …it is such a warren of tiny streets though, it’s easy to get confused, and it’s uphill all the way. Great views of the Alhambra, but the sun was in the wrong place for the photographer to get a good shot.
Carried on uphill to the Sacramonte area, traditionally occupied by gypsies, some of whom lived in caves.

We’d had enough of hills by this point, so returned to the centre in search of a cash machine. Luckily, we ended up in an area where we could get a direct tram back to the campsite…apart from the 20 minute walk at the end, which was the straw that almost broke the camel’s back!😬
