What a day! Torrential rain all night and all day today. The washing had to have a shrinkage blast in the dryer – there was too much of it to do anything else really.
We’d arranged to meet my old next door neighbour today in Marbella. It must be 40 odd years since we’d last seen each other!
Things turned a bit pear shaped when we realised we couldn’t get to the bus stop as the path was completely under water. Tried alternative routes but it took us an hour and a half just to find a footbridge to cross the dual carriageway! Despite umbrellas, we were completely soaked.
When we finally reached the cafe where we’d arranged to meet, I checked out all the women with long blonde hair but none of them fitted the bill.
Then Suzanne appeared, I knew her straight away, closely followed by husband David.
Had a really brilliant afternoon/evening trying out all the traditional Spanish dishes and drinks, and catching up on 40 years of life. Such a lovely couple, they’ve even brought us home – took about twenty minutes instead of two and a half hours!
