Well, it was always going to happen, the minute he saw the trail of white stones going up the side of the mountain opposite. A marked trail, no less. I’m so very happy that I didn’t even attempt that one!
The French lady next door went up before Guy and came back soaked in sweat saying they had slipped several times and it was a very narrow path, as in one foot in front of the other. With my top notch balancing skills I would have been back down at the bottom much quicker than anticipated.
I kept myself entertained by negotiating a top loading washing machine with a little help from Guy before he set off. There’s even a twin tub here – now that would definitely have done me a bamboozle.
As I removed our first load, several people wanted to know how it worked including one of the campsite staff 🤣 Shot myself in the foot being helpful as by the time I returned with the second load, there was a queue!
Very hot today compared with the temperatures we’ve experienced so far this trip. Guy re-appeared at lunchtime with news that there are good views of the gorge and campsite from the top but everywhere seems quite devoid of life i.e. animals and birds.

Not much happened for the rest of the day, other than a long chat with a nice couple from Essex and more clothes washing.
When the sun went down behind the hills, it seemed to drop 20° immediately. Time to retreat inside.
Happy Birthday again to Mum ..87 years young today X
