Had a couple of eventful days in Magnan visiting Guy’s parents. A little too-ing and fro-ing to the local clinic as Guy’s mum had broken her ankle and didn’t even know. A small boot has been fitted and her ‘chicken runs’ are on hold until it’s mended.
Today we left at lunchtime and headed for the Pyrenees. It was warm and sunny after two days of sometimes torrential rain. Just one little hiccup in Tarbes, when we decided not to attempt going under a 3.1 metre high bridge with our 2.9 metre high motorhome. It’s time Googlemaps had a vehicle dimension option!

Beautiful clear day up on the Col, so we went for a mini walk, saving ourselves for the Pic du Midi tomorrow. Just on the hillside, we saw a few vultures and rather weirdly, two llamas! Then, we spotted lots of marmots sitting on rocks and running around. They were very hard to see at first and we had to sit quietly for ages before they ventured out. Nice little chipmunk style things, definitely preferable to the coypu we saw in Bourg! 🤣
After 6pm, the clouds started to roll up the valley and almost completely enveloped the van, then, it disappeared as quickly as it came. It always seems strange to be looking down on a load of cotton wool.
