Cold and miserable again this morning. We got on the motorway to San Sebastián via Pamplona. Such a mountainous region, well the bits we could see through the mist.

There’s only one proper motorhome parking area here and it’s miles away from the old town, but we we’re lucky enough to get a place which is a good job as we didn’t have a plan B.
Had lunch and it seemed to brighten up a bit so we set off for the long walk around the bay.
The place is really busy even though it’s not holiday season anymore. There’s a glorious stretch of sandy beach here where a few people were doing arty sand stuff and some lists of names etc we didn’t understand.

Stood and watched for a while and then continued round to the lovely old town, in particular, to La Viña for Basque cheesecake!
They were queueing out of the door as usual, so we did another circuit of the town and tried again. This time we struck lucky and even managed to get a tiny table in the corner. Two ladies were stood up at a nearby table and one of them had a laughing fit she couldn’t control. It was so infectious, it set us off and several people around her. I don’t think any of us had a clue what we were laughing at, but it made our afternoon. Her friend tried to explain to us but all got lost in translation.
As we walked back, the sun came out – hurrah!..please stay!
