Much rain in the night again. We woke up surrounded by a muddy quagmire. Guy had to go outside to change over the gas bottle as we’d run out of LPG but fortunately had a bit of Moroccan gas left.

Couldn’t believe the weather along the A52 (not ‘that’ A52 obvs). Torrential rain, sleet, fog, and then we entered a short tunnel and came out in snow! Occasional glimpses of sunshine I have to add.
When we entered Portugal, it immediately seemed very green everywhere, with flooded fields just like France and Spain.

Still trying to work out the complicated toll system on the motorways. We’ve paid for one, which was about 16 euros but the other was part of the Easy Toll system which seems to be anything but easy.
Guy negotiated the Porto traffic and we emerged on the south side near Vila Nova de Gaia. I had this municipal campsite earmarked as it’s one of the closest to Porto. Some of the reviews were terrible, especially about the muddy pitches, but I reckon it’ll be the same in all of them. As it turned out, there was a nice welcome at reception and we can stay for two nights with electricity for the grand total of €23!
Bargain!
We walked to the beach as it was already mid afternoon. Huge waves and squally wind and rain, but quite a nice seafront with a lot of rocks and a boardwalk running all the way along. Had to duck into a cafe at one point but still got soaked walking back. At least we’ve had some fresh air today.
