Well, if you don’t wake up until 10am it is going to be a late start isn’t it!?
In fairness, I think the putting forward of our clocks by one hour yesterday as we came in from Portugal knocked us for six! 🤣
We ambled up the road and went into the Doñana National Park to see if we could spot any of the Iberian Lynx. Not a chance, unless you take a guided tour (not on Mondays) to see the ones they have in an enclosure where a breeding program is taking place, presumably to re-stock the park. Despite all the signage, as in 2024, no wildlife to be seen whatsoever. Actually, that’s a lie – one sparrow and one very small lizard!
Back up the road to El Rocio again for lunch. Totally different to yesterday ..hardly anyone around. A few spoonbills on the lake though, and some flamingoes on the very far horizon.

We set off for Sanlucar after lunch and couldn’t believe how long it took considering that, this morning, in Matalasclañas, we were only about 30km away. Unfortunately, we can’t drive very far on sand in the motorhome, nor can we cross rivers. The only option is to go almost into Seville and back out again.

Two hours and ten minutes later, we found some good parking near the beach and wandered in to this buzzing little sherry town. It always amazes us how many people are out and about at 5pm in these places. Had to sit down in the last of the sunshine and sample a glass of Manzanilla, as most of it comes from Sanlucar so it would be rude not to.
