Fabulous star filled sky last night but not much sleep ☹️ Some kids came down to the beach around midnight in a couple of cars with a bit of drum n bass blaring out. They didn’t really bother us but kept expecting the police to turn up. We were told later by the ferryman that there’s only two policemen on the whole of Hvar so think we could’ve parked anywhere really. <B11E567E-4C28-4AE9-A2CC-D2626022D114852275FB-AE99-4E8F-90D8-79D481900924Guy drove straight to the bottom of the island, which, incredibly only took an hour. There was already a queue for the next ferry so we got into the line. Some numpty had parked his van and just left it causing chaos. There was a gap in front of him but it was too narrow for us to get round. Suddenly two cars from behind jumped in front of us …Guy was fuming 😤 and went to tell them there was a queue! A member of staff from the ferry company fortunately came and told them off and said he would make sure we got on in front of them! All sounds a bit petty, but it could’ve meant us waiting another three hours! Once back on the mainland we drove straight down to Ploce with the idea of getting another ferry to the Peljesac Peninsular; this enables us to get to Dubrovnik without going through the Neum Corridor (a bit of Bosnia/Hertz that interrupts Croatia on the coast) as we’re not insured because it’s not in the EU. Ploce was a real industrial port with some of the grimiest looking flats I’ve seen in a while. Rufus got himself some new fans when a coach load of Ukrainians turned up. B1E153A1-0AE8-4748-BBF9-F422CEEDDC8CIt was very hot on the ferry and we both got off feeling like we’d had too much sun. Drove across the island to Orebic towards a cheap Acsi campsite. As we approached, everything became black and charred around us and you could still see smoke in the distance. Horrendous fire by the look of it possibly fanned by the incredibly strong winds they get here. We decided to stay as it’s a brand new clean site with great views of the islands and the ex-fireman says it’s safe. If all else fails, we have our own water supply and hose reel …I could be Penny Morris. 😁🔥
