Managed to get the green cards printed out at the campsite …they weren’t green but seemed to suffice at the border. Got our passports stamped too! Took about forty minutes to get through the border, then we stopped at the first town thinking we’d draw out some local currency – it was Euros! It’s not meant to be euros; they’re not in the EU but seems they don’t bother with their own currency! The country felt different straight away – lots of Cypress trees and very mountainous. The roads are a bit rougher and there’s more litter around but the further we travelled in, the more beautiful it got. Herceg-Novi was ok but the one road through was quite congested. Managed to find a parking space and the traffic warden appeared immediately. We had to get a ticket from the take-away pizza place – one ticket for each hour! Four Chinese men turned up in a car and parked next to us. They asked Guy where to get a ticket and looked at him in disbelief when he told them Pic Nik Pizzas 😂 Drove round the bay to Perast, where we were guided into a parking place by four eager young lads, who wanted to sell us tickets for a boat to the island. They settled for a parking fee of €8 for 24 hours after saying we could afford €10 as Guy was wearing a Rolex!!! Er …no, it’s a Seiko. We made sure to tell them how vicious our dog was just in case they were sizing up the joint! Perast is a lovely old town with cruise ships coming in and out all the time. Many of the bars were closed as it’s the end of the season now, but still plenty of people in the early evening including the same four Chinese men we met earlier who greeted us like old friends! Rufus was inundated with the Chinese paparazzi – he’s never had so many cameras pointed at him.
