We heard it start to rain this morning and it hasn’t stopped since. On the way to Innsbruck we had to go over another mountain pass (Thurn), but thankfully it was nothing like yesterday’s epic – good job really in this weather. First stop was Lidl where we bought everything in sight as we were hungry and it was already past lunch time. Then stopped at a service point to fill up will water; 1 euro – but only gave us about a third of a tank. BLT on crusty baguette for lunch – went down well! Food is a bit expensive here, but diesel is so much cheaper than Italy or Croatia. Got to Innsbruck and parked for free on a back street. We were so surprised by the old town – it was lovely. Been to Innsbruck before with the boys, but we must have completely missed the main bit!! Lots of traditional shops, pastel coloured buildings and even an oompah band to put a smile on peoples faces. We bought an umbrella – think it’s going to get lots of use in the next week or so. We’ve parked up a windy road by a cable car station and the weather forecast says snow ⛄️ in Innsbruck at the minute. It’s still rain thankfully – we don’t have any snow chains. Guy has got a cold now and is wearing his scarf inside the van …if he ties a jumper casually over his shoulders I’ll know he’s just posing.
