Fussen and Neuschwanstein

So much rain in the night. We were parked under trees which didn’t help with the hammering on the roof. Made our way back down to the main road and then up and over the Fern Pass. There was a dusting of snow on the mountains but the roads were clear and it stopped raining for a while. Parked up in Fussen and had a walk around. Another very pretty town. Lots of decorative paintwork around windows ..in fact, the museum had a balcony painted on the front which really did ‘deceive the eye’. We walked a short distance out of the town to see the waterfall and then back along the road. Carried on driving a couple of miles to see Neuschwanstein Castle, but parking was very expensive and we weren’t allowed to stay overnight. The nearest ‘stellplatz’ also wanted to charge us €15 plus extra for services. We managed to get water from them for a couple of euros then drove up the road and parked for free. It’s very cold and drizzling with rain again now.
