Left the Caravan Clubbers behind at lunchtime after Guy had done a couple of hours on his bike. Drove up towards Granada via Orgiva and Lanjaron. We didn’t stay in Orgiva as it full of New Age traveller types 😂…See my new boyfriend below. The husband said I should take his picture whilst we were waiting at traffic lights. Thankfully, they turned to green just as he saw me! Had lunch just outside Lanjaron sort of overlooking part of the Sierra Nevada.
Drove on then to Monachil – gateway to a spectacular walk through a gorge – Las Cahorros. Think we chose the hardest path. We followed a stream for about an hour, climbing up and down, over tree roots and under branches. It was a nightmare for me with my Bambi legs as it was muddy and slippery – thought I’d end up in the steam below. Four lads passed us as I was clinging on to a rock having a panic attack. Sure they were highly amused! Then we came to a better path with several rope bridges across the water. I didn’t mind these at all as they had hand rails. Then we came to a sort of ledge around a rock. It was at this point I had to hand in my armband and realise I wouldn’t make selection for the SAS ☹️!
Thankfully we found an easier route back and a nice bottle of white in the fridge. 🥂
