Cold this morning – bit of a shock to the system. Think the temperatures had approached freezing in the night. Couldn’t decide which campsite to head for in order to make the visit to Granada easier. The one we chose is about a twenty minute bus journey out of town but it has worked quite well. Rufus had a big walk, then we ventured in with quite high expectations, only to have them dashed quickly once we got off the bus. We walked for miles through the newer part of town which to be honest, could have been Nottingham or anywhere. There were lots of beggars about and I just think we took the wrong route really. We got caught up in a march for International Women’s Day and then started to walk uphill to what we hoped was the Sacromonte district, famous for Flamenco, gypsys etc We were lost in a warren of whitewashed tiny little streets for what seemed like an age. Eventually we came out on the edge of the city with spectacular views of the Alhambra. Wandered round into the Albaicin district and then finally found somewhere for lunch. A buffet type thing – and we were starving. There’s only so many times you can return with your plate before it gets embarrassing 😬. By this time we had to make our way back to the bus stop as Rufus would soon be expecting his mid afternoon Dentastik. Another 10k …we should be going off to a shadow soon! Quickly sorted with a Friday bottle of Rioja!
