After some debate about whether we should visit the island of Burano we decided to head for Lake Garda instead. Lucky that we did, as the car park turned out to be twice the price we thought it was!

The motorway towards Milan was chock full of loonies – mainly drivers of huge lorries who were on their phones! 😡

We came off the motorway around

Padua to find some cheaper diesel but got in a right pickle getting back on – to the point where we’d negated any savings by going round in circles 🙄 There’s at least three Ikeas on the outskirts of Padua it seems!

Arrived at Desenzano Lidl, a Lidl bit deranged and needing lunch. Carried on up through some narrow tunnels to Limone, where we had a campsite earmarked. It was full!

Seems strange that everywhere is still busy in the second week of September, but I think the holiday season must be somewhat skewed as it started so late.

More driving for poor Guy! We’ve ended up at the top of the lake at Riva del Garda in a small motorhome park. Lovely place but again, it’s really busy. Seems about 50/50 Germans and Italians …oh and a tired English couple 😂
