Packed up our stuff this morning and went to reception to pay our campsite fees – no one around! Rang the bell, waited, eventually a young bloke appeared with his daughter. “You want pay?” He tried to work it out, but couldn’t, so rang Herr Miserable who came in, never smiled, no good morning, nothing! “Forty” he said, “cash!” No receipt, no thank you, no goodbye. Rudest campsite owners I ever met and I think we were overcharged as the acsi book said €17 per night. I’ll do them a really nice review on trip adviser 😂
On to Vienna – wow! With a bit of investigation we found out we could park at the Hofburg, smack in the centre, free of charge at the weekend, so that’s what we did! What a place! Never seen so many designer shops in my life. The whole city reminded me of the icing on a wedding cake. All creamy white with pillars and statues. Went for Kaffee und Kuchen at Cafe Central – had to queue for a few minutes but was well worth it. The interior was lovely and the cake…well, I wanted to eat them all! Everything was so clean and perfect – even the horse and carts had a poo catching ensemble so they didn’t mess the roads up. Fountains and parks everywhere too. In the afternoon, Jo came over to have a coffee with us as they were in town too on the last leg of their hols. We decided to drive back out towards Hainburg again and have another night by the Danube. Called at Lidl on the way but it turned into supermarket sweep as they closed at six and it was four minutes to. Got the wine though – phew 😅!!

    1. Hi Alicia, hope you’re all ok. Beautiful but a tad expensive. Rufus has a new lease of life – amazing! We just met a 15year old Airedale too so he is but a spring chicken. How’s Calum getting on in Windsor? Xx
