So very cold last night -10..it was like a winter wonderland outside. The frost on top of the snow made everything look so beautiful.

We set off towards Segovia, thinking that it might be difficult to get water as pipes would be frozen etc but we found a fuel station with a tap and they were happy for us to fill up, however, our own hose was blocked with ice. Señor Bramley does, fortunately, have a bit of hose experience though and managed to get it sorted quickly.
Saw a beautiful big fox digging in the snow further along the route, but by the time Guy had got the right lens on the camera, he’d disappeared. The fields turned green within the space of a few miles and we arrived in Segovia as the temperature warmed up, blue skies and brilliant sunshine.
Somehow, we’ve missed this city every time we’ve been past, but glad we came today. It’s a lovely, vibrant place, full of stuff to see. It has a huge Roman Aqueduct – the biggest we’ve ever seen, towering 30 metres above the road at its highest point. 166 arches and 120 pillars makes for a lot of granite!

The Gothic cathedral was also massive – took us about an hour to walk around it and we don’t hang about!

There’s also an Alcázar that looks like a Disneyland castle and that’s because it was the inspiration for the original one in California!

Found a nice sunny square to sit in and had our first Vermut (this year) served with a miniature hamburger, all for the princely sun of £6.30! Temped to stay but got smoked out by the table next door. Time to get back and put the heating on!
