Got to say, I think this has been one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The day didn’t start off too well…we ended up walking even further than yesterday. For something that is so huge and high up on a hill, it’s ridiculously difficult to find. By the time we got to the entrance we’d been walking for well over an hour. We were both getting grumpy and the fact that I wanted to detour slightly to the Placeta Joe Strummer didn’t go down too well. 😬29205D52-CD7A-41C9-9F92-A3850A6A9642
The gardens and palaces were just stunning but the expansive views over Granada as a backdrop just made it really. Every building and garden had water running through it to keep things cool – really clever to say it’s so old.
The Nazaries Palace was the only thing we had to queue up for as we were given a time slot to visit it when we booked tickets. Security was high everywhere and it didn’t go unnoticed that we had tried to get in earlier than our allotted time. We had to go and wait on the naughty step. This one palace was something else; marble floors and such intricate detailing on the plasterwork and tiles – we were awestruck.
Thankfully, on the way back to the bus stop we found the route we should have walked up, so did it in half the time. Aching feet and backs aside, a fantastic day all in all. 😁
