Forced to get up early 😴😢and relocate, pre shower, to the Glenfinnan Visitor Centre so that we could get a parking place for the mornings photo shoot.

The Jacobite express runs a couple of times a day over the Glenfinnan Viaduct – a location made famous in the Harry Potter films. We walked up the hillside to get a good spot and it was quite a spectacle huffing, puffing and chuffing as it came over the bridge. Unfortunately, our trusty cameraman had his equipment on the wrong setting ..all blurred 😬 Big disappointment ensued as we made our way over the hill and down the other side. It was a beautiful walk through the heather with great views of Loch Shiel along the way.

Decided to have lunch, then go back up to get snaps of the afternoon train. Then, Guy checked the Sunday timetable and realised he had about twenty minutes to get back up there. Gone in sixty seconds 😂 – I was halfway through making apple tart with the last of the fruit from our tree at home, so had to stay with the oven.

Success on the second attempt 😊

It started to rain, so we started driving towards Mallaig, where we’ve booked a ferry to get over to Skye. Couldn’t believe the beautiful white sand beaches and turquoise water along the way.

Unfortunately, there was absolutely nowhere to park and we couldn’t get an earlier ferry, so we’ve ended up on a campsite. Really beautiful location but not the weather to match it …maybe tomorrow .🤔
