Oh hello …it’s us again, on a mission to get to Türkiye this time. Got all the green card stuff and hopefully a bit more prepared than last time, when we got stuck in the middle of Istanbul for four hours!

Had a lovely afternoon in London yesterday with our boys after parking up at Lee Valley campsite.

Easy journey in to London Fields, then picnic in the park, a walk around Victoria Park, Aperol at the pub, then tea at Jordan’s. The only photo we got was us outside the Number One Cafe (off of Top Boy)!🤣

Today, we drove to Dover and walked up the white cliffs in the heat. Of course, we couldn’t see much of them as we were on top but the occasional views were great. The sea breeze was a bit of a blessing too.

Got a much earlier crossing than we had booked, so as usual, got caught out shovelling in prawns and rice when boarding was imminent.

We decided to skip Calais as it was still light and headed straight to the lovely village of Esquelbecq instead. Lucky to get a space as there was about twenty vans here already. I think it has the best church bells in France but can’t remember if they stop overnight.

  1. How exciting. We’ll be following your trip with interest. We had a great time in Ireland & Scotland until the tyre shredded. Looks like they are going to write it off! Still trying to get it sorted.
