Drove up to San Vito Lo Capo which was a long road up through some very different scenery. It was very green and rocky with threatening rain clouds. There was a kite festival taking place on the beach with many loudspeaker announcements and a brass band, but not many kites. We then continued round the headland on a long and winding steep road which we knew finished in a dead end at the northern entrance to the Zingaro Nature Reserve. You can only walk into the reserve and no dogs were allowed ☹️. There are several tiny coves with white pebble beaches and turquoise blue water which you can walk down to from the main path. We walked to the first one and then decided to drive to the other entrance at Scopello and use the same ticket to go in from that end too. It was a really long drive as we had to go all the way back to San Vito first. The second beach was almost identical to the first. We planned to stay overnight in the car park and the man at the first entrance said it was ok. Unfortunately, car park man at Scopello entrance, he say no! So, now we’ve had to pay €10 to park overnight in a car park with no services. 🙄…Just one of those days but we’ve seen some amazing scenery.
