Headed inland this morning, up towards a place called Teba ..a recommendation from David last night. Sadly, we couldn’t get into it for love nor money. We had three attempts climbing up on single track roads from different directions but every time we reached the town, the streets became too narrow for us to reach any suitable parking. Good views all around but we had to give up in the end.

The next place within striking distance for lunch was Osuna. We came here last year when it was very cold, today warm, sunny and breezy. There was some kind of festival thing going off in the Plaza Mayor with the obligatory bar set up and everyone out for the occasion. Had another look at some of the palaces and then walked up to the viewpoint by the collegiate church which was closed.

Drove on mid afternoon towards Seville and stopped on the outskirts at Alcala de Guadaira. Managed to park near a lovely park with a very unusual ‘dragon bridge’.
The place is quite spread out and we had difficulty finding our way up to the castle even though it was directly above us. When we did finally reach the entrance, it was closed for maintenance work!
We were very hot by now …the temperature close to 30°C. For October, this seems amazing to us but Seville is nearly always scorchio.
Even more difficulty finding the actual town too but as soon as we saw a bar with any life, we stopped for a drink. Unfortunately, there was a very attractive cake shop next door and, well, everyone else was doing it! It’s always best to try and fit in.
