We’ve come a bit further east today to the edge of a national park, and the spectacular village of Cazorla.
Just when we’re least expecting it, Spain delivers another gem to our doorstep.
The village has mountains and a castle rearing up behind it and the rest of it is surrounded by millions of olive trees. All the houses are white – well sandy coloured at the minute, and a beautiful stream runs through the middle of it.
We walked through a couple of big squares buzzing with people who were all out for Sunday lunch, then up to the Castle de la Yedra, which was closed! Views for miles and miles though, nearly all olive trees. Wasn’t particularly bothered about going inside anyway, even though it nearly killed us walking up!
Once back down in the town, we took the even steeper track up the other side, where the views of both castle and town were even better.
Had to have a recovery glass of Sangria – thought I’d got a dirty glass, then realised the rim was dipped in cinnamon. When they brought free tapas too, I truly believed it was Christmas! 🕺🍷
Walked back by the river and then we moved the motorhome as it was market day Monday in the car park – didn’t want to wake up with stalls around us …it’s happened before! 😂
