Falls mainly on us! It’s just not like normal Spain weather in March. Down to 6 degrees today in the mountains with torrential rain and even fog.
Think we’ve covered the whole of the Parque Natural de las Sierras de Cazorla y Segura. Guy drove right around the Guadalquivir lake which was really beautiful. The water was bluer than blue set against red earth and we got to see some deer wandering around too.
Because it carried on raining, we knocked the idea of a walk up a rock on the head and carried on…over three mountain passes! Very technical driving – not for the faint hearted! The ever changing landscape made it interesting in between the hairpin bends. We went from olive trees and red earth, to pine and rocks, lavender fields and then hundreds of fruit trees in blossom.
Landed in the town of Vélez-Rubio. Haven’t been out of the van today other than a sprint to the bin with some prawns we couldn’t face – got drenched! There was really nothing left for dinner (haven’t passed a shop) so defrosted the Lidl prawns – they smelt decidedly fishy. Ended up with a strange concoction of aubergine, potatoes, sun dried tomatoes and a fried egg! 😂Really, it was quite nice. 👍
