Woke up at 10:30 and wondered what on earth had happened to us – I mean, even though we forgot the clock forward thing, 9:30 would still have been quite bad! 😂😴

So, very late morning, nearly lunchtime, we headed north for Valencia. It had rained all night and was still at it when we left, but Valencia was forecast dry and maybe even sunny.

The skies brightened up as we came up the motorway and the sun was out by the time we pulled in to Camping Coll Vert. Nice little campsite for €16 per night, friendly owner and bus stop for twenty minute ride into the city, right outside the gate.

Quick lunch, then on the bus to the City of Arts and Sciences – a massive state-of-the-art science complex set within a landscaped park. You cannot miss it on the way into Valencia – it looks like a futuristic city. Fabulous place to walk around and then you can carry on walking through green parkland all the way into the city.

The city itself is mighty confusing – I remember getting lost last time we visited. Managed to get to the old town and decided that we must have missed half of it on the previous visit. Shared a pizza in one of the squares while watching some brilliant street entertainment then followed it up with chocolate and churros on the way to the bus stop 😂😬

Guy is bitterly disappointed with the photos as he’s somehow caught a switch on the camera putting it into basic mode which means not much detail.

Happy Mothers Day to Mum and Jean and all the other mums too. 😊
