Did a repeat of yesterday really, including not waking up until 10:30🫢- I think we need a reset button before we waste anymore of our lives!
There was a lot of traffic noise from early this morning, so that could be today’s excuse.
Got the bus into the city again and tried to see anything we might have missed yesterday. It’s quite hard to say if we’ve seen it all as it’s so confusing, especially the old Barrio del Carmen with its maze-like streets full of graffiti.
We like the Mercado Central – one of the biggest indoor markets in Europe. The produce always looks top notch and the building itself is quite striking with its glass roof, tiles, mosaics and metalwork.
Guy booked himself in at a barbers while we had lunch, so that was our next stop. Always a gamble when you don’t speak the lingo but I think Carlos Conde did a cracking job.
After walking around in circles for a few more hours, we made our way back through the riverbed park which seems to surround half of Valencia, until we reached the City of Arts and Sciences again. Another chance for Guy to get some shots with his camera on the right setting this time. 🙄 We noticed along the way that all the bridges had people sleeping rough under them – quite sad to see, as it’s almost a city hidden within a city.
Waited ages for the bus which was packed to the gunnels for our return journey – think we got both shoppers and workers all in one go.
Happy Birthday again Mum! Hope you’ve had a lovely day X
