Last day in the lovely, beautiful Calella de Palafrugell and what do we decide to do? Walk a twelve mile trip to Palamós and back! 🙄

It was looking like the weather might be a bit hit and miss so thought we’d visit one of our old haunts.

There are hundreds of tracks through the pine forests here, up by the botanical gardens at Cap Roig. It’s very easy to get lost as we have done in the past but by avoiding the coast we took the shortest route to town.

The first time we came through here in 2004, I remember Guy saying “What’s this dump you’ve brought us to?”. It is a completely high rise development that hides a nice old town and a port. It’s full of life, even in the cooler months and it’s nice to sit on the seafront and watch the world go by.

It got hotter and hotter – thick socks and walking boots = daft idea! Didn’t get back to Calella till 5pm, at which point our feet were pulsating. Missed a trip to the beach and had to have a recovery nap. 😬

The fridge/freezer has been acting up because we hadn’t parked completely level. Adjusted the ramps last night and it seems to be ok now, but in the midst of all the checking, we didn’t get anything out for dinner. Calaubar.com it is then! 👍👍👍🍷🥳🤪The best food in Europe (so far…)in our humble opinion.
