A quiet night in the gorge despite the parking being near the main road. This morning, however, a couple of lorries turned up and the drivers started having a spanner throwing contest – well, that’s what it sounded like! They were actually there to do the important work of chopping down any dangerous trees hanging over the road.
It was really cold this morning -8c as we drove out of the gorge and across the frosty hills. We headed first to some motorhome services to get water etc, unfortunately, as is common at the moment, the water was turned off due to the freezing temperatures. Luckily, down in the town of Balaguer, the taps were still on and we managed to fill up. There were some colourful houses over the river that made the place look a lot like Girona.

Stocked up with food at Lidl, then drove on to Solsona, which has a nice old quarter with narrow streets, but more importantly, a pharmacy for much needed cough medicine. Thank goodness for google-translate!

On to Cardona, a hill town which looks really interesting but it will have to wait until tomorrow -we just haven’t got the energy this evening.
