The Medes Isles

Very frosty and cold this morning – the water tap we planned to use to re-fill had a big icicle hanging from it! 🥶Drove to the parking at the top of the hill so that we could have an easier walk around the town. Cardona was lovely, with its castle, big church and salt mine museum but after a very quick walk around wrapped up in all our winter gear, we decided to head for warmer climes.

A zip along the motorway brought us down to the Costa Brava. Sun shining and a balmy 16c – what a difference a couple of hours drive can make. Unfortunately, there are very few campsites open, and nothing in our favourite place – Palafrugell, so we’ve landed in Estartit. Drove on to the very busy Les Medes Camping and entertained the nosy natives with a lot of shunting back and forth around the trees. Reversing camera still only working intermittently so hand signals and swear words are key.

A quick walk down to see the sea, washing in, line up, table out, glass of wine, errr coat on!

To Estartit…it’s quite Warm! 31/1/23
