Raining ☔️ today. Real grey miserable English kinda rain. The weather app said it was just cloudy at Porto so we set off for a campsite about 40 km below. We tried the non motorway route and went miles along a mountain pass only to find a no through road sign at the end. After trying all other options we ended up back where we started. Motorway then. More tolls taken automatically from your card as you go under the cameras. They say 2-3 euros usually but they are every few miles and soon stack up. We arrived at lunchtime and it was still pouring with rain. Campsite said it had washing machine and tumble dryer. They were debating in reception whether the drier worked or not – my patient husband gave them his best “find out or we’re not staying” look. It works – which is really surprising given the state of it. We’ve done three loads with Guy valiantly running out in the rain to put another 50 cents in every time it stops. Spent the afternoon cleaning after Guy put the tent up so the dog had somewhere to sleep. Went for a walk when the rain stopped about 4pm and guess what? We’re in Skeggi!!! (Might be a bit harsh as the sand is really white but I’m sure the Dirk & Dagger is round the corner.)
