Last night we’d slept in the train station carpark and it seemed that all night long we could hear tipper trucks reversing and dumping stuff. After a very short drive this morning we found the source of the noise – the biggest quarry we’ve ever seen! Guy’s photos look like an advert for Tonka toys! Managed to get up to a viewpoint where you could nearly see the bottom, but it was so cold up there we didn’t stay for long.

Drove on towards Huelva, billed as boring and industrial in the Rough Guide …it looked both of those things.
Carried on to campsite near the Portuguese border – the area is still a bit flat and uninteresting but we’re close to a beach and a little town, so it will do for a couple of days. The man at reception offered us 30 days for the price of 20 but we weren’t tempted!
Managed to get three loads of washing into two huge machines and set up several lines around the trees. It filled them all, plus the airer thing which we’ve had to weigh down with 8 litre water bottles as it’s so windy.
Had a walk to the beach which is lovely and the rough sea was full of kite surfers for entertainment.
