A nice quiet night on the Danube. Guy met a 15 year old Airedale while he was out taking some park pictures this morning. Rufus is but a spring chicken šŸ“! He had a little wander among the Autumn leaves too.Set off towards Hungary after sorting out an E-Vignette for the motorways. Stopped at a service station for lunch where a coach load of Bulgarian women were all sleeping on the grass verge! Found a campsite 4km out of the city centre…it’s so busy – like streets of motorhomes. It was really hot, so waited for it to cool down then decided to walk in to the centre in the evening. It was a very long way! Had found the best place to to try goulash but when we got there it was fully booked. The whole place was heaving with people – busier than Prague and Kraków I reckon. It looked really pretty at night, with all the bridges and lights but by 8pm, I couldn’t see straight I was so hungry in Hungary! šŸ˜‚ After looking at the Parliament building and the shoes by the river (there to represent the Jews that were shot on the riverside in the war ā˜¹ļø), we found a place to eat. Guys goulash was cold. They took it back to heat it up then forgot about it, by which time I’d eaten mine. The waiter bought us a couple of schnapps as a gift – 60% alcohol (diesel!). Walked back – grand total 7 miles! My new trainers won’t last long at this rate!
