Still at Camping Galeb in Omis – decided to get the bus into Split from here as it’s only about half an hour away and they run regularly. Given the trouble we had trying to park in Split on the way down it seemed like a good option. This morning, we started checking off in our heads all the stuff that’s become due for the motorhome – (it’s exactly a year since we started this travelling malarkey) so, renew insurance ✔️, renew tracker ✔️, pay for next years storage when not in use ✔️….TAX ⁉️ We’ve forgotten to tax it because that runs from the beginning of the month 🙄. So, after all our faffing around with green cards for Montenegro and Bosnia, it’s now highly questionable as to whether we were covered anyway! Whoops 😬- that’ll be the admin dept! Anyway, bus to Split. Came on time and whisked us to within two minutes walk of the Diocletians Palace and old town. It was a strange mix of roman remains coupled with modern shops and market stalls and restaurants. We decided to go up the bell tower – I changed my mind two flights up …really gone off the height stuff. Had a coffee and slice of pizza to keep us going, then got on the bus back. We wondered why everyone was pushing and shoving to get on but quickly realised it was completely packed. Think a lot of school kids were on their way home too. The driver kept letting more and more people on – we were all squashed in like sardines standing up ..it was awful! Eventually, it thinned out and we got back unscathed. That’s enough public transport for this year.
