Packed up this morning and followed the Cetina gorge out of Omis and up to its source at Cetina. On the way we stopped at Zadvarje to look down into the canyon and waterfall. The roads were a bit narrow and twisty. Once they widened out, Mr Bramley thought it was a good idea for me to drive. It was a bad idea! I don’t know how third gear became sixth and stalled. This was shortly followed by a miscommunication between driver and co-pilot resulting in a near miss. We swapped seats. 😬 Stopped at Izvor Cetine for lunch then walked down to see a beautiful blue pool where the river starts. It was so clear, you could see it going underground. Apparently it’s been dived to 100 metres …that must’ve been scary. I was trying to get Guy to jump in but the water was incredibly cold.
Just after we left, we stopped to help a man push his car out of ditch he’d somehow reversed into! Guy got our trusty Wilco’s doormats out to try and give it a bit of traction…it worked eventually. The man said he could understand what we were saying because he’d once been to Newcastle 🤣 – why aye! Next along the road was Knin, where we’ve walked round a brilliant fortress. Rufus really enjoyed it until we got to the steps back down. His Dad had to give him a retired fireman’s lift. Now snuggled down in the carpark …don’t think anyone will notice!
