Woke up to a very foggy morning – almost a pea souper! It made for difficult driving for Mr Bramley as we were trying to avoid tolls, so A roads rather than motorways. Gave up after an hour – it was taking too long and there were far too many roundabouts! A6BAE1E7-39CE-4CE4-A3A9-DD9E3B6591AEOnce the sun broke through, it was really warm. We went from 3 degrees to 22 in the afternoon. (Just where is the ‘degree’ sign? – can’t find it on the iPad!) Eventually, we got to Bordeaux. Along the way there was so much mistletoe in the trees – must be because it’s easier to see when there aren’t many leaves on. 14631DAC-66E6-4218-BC48-1D20E752593FWe decided to revisit the Dune du Pilat- the highest in Europe and so spectacular. Not quite as much fun as when we were watching the boys skidding down it at warp speed but still amazing. The big issue was climbing up! It was like trying to go up a down escalator with sand filling our boots every ten yards. We’d gone up the steep bit as we were trying to avoid paying the carpark fee – which was also steep! Watched the sun almost set and then skidded back down to get through the woods before it got proper dark. Good job I left a trail of breadcrumbs! 🤣

  1. Hello both! Belated Happy New Year! How is Daisy dog – is she on the mend? We’re off to sunny Spain for a couple of months – a little later than planned as Mum n Dad have been poorly but ok now. Calling to see Guy’s parents tomorrow then off towards Granada, then back up the coast towards Barcelona. Hoping all will be ok with pet passport situation but suppose if it all looks like it’s going pear shaped we’ll have to head back early. Nice to hear from you and hope you are both well. X

    1. Daisy’s getting there, but it seems to have taken forever. Still only short walks and only got the go ahead for stairs yesterday. Then we had an accident, and wrote the car off on the way home from the Vets. All OK, but Daisy was thrown over the back seat. She’s fine, but it freaked me out. Never been in the other end of an RTA before! Hope you have a great trip. We’ll be following you. How’s Rufus?

      1. Crikey, sounds like you’ve had quite a rough time. Glad you are all ok. Should imagine it’s been quite a shock and your brain will be going through all the “what ifs” – mine would 🙄! Hopefully it hasn’t put Daisy’s recovery back. Having to get used to short walks with Rufus – his back legs are not great. Got 3 different lots of tablets that he has all the time…possibly a bit of dementia too. Still, seems quite happy most of the time and strangely, always perks up when we come away in the motorhome. It’s been very warm today – think that’s got to be good for all of us!
