Scooted up the coast this morning and around the back of Barcelona – fabulous city, but not one for the motorhome. Tried to find the botanical gardens in Blanes. They were on a headland and we drove round and round like clowns 🤡..totally missing the entrance. In the end we drove down to the port, parked up, had lunch, then walked back up the hill. Very easy to find on foot! Lovely place – probably even more spectacular when all the flowers are in bloom, but a great setting nonetheless. Getting out of the town was even worse. We lost signal on google maps and Guy ended up driving up a road that resembled a ramp…then we had no choice but to carry on. It was only just wide enough given the overhanging balconies but worse was to come when it got really, really steep with sharp 90 degree bends. We were watched by some builders who thought we’d completely lost the plot…at this point I had, as the iPad had shot off the shelf above me and landed on my head. Guy had no idea what had happened, just thought I was having a fit about the steepness of the hill! Then we were well and truly stuck, as at the top it became so narrow there was no way we could get through! Fortunately, two very helpful Spanish chaps got us to turn round whilst they ran down the one way street to stop anything coming up so that we could drive back down the way we came. Flipping nightmare! Not having had enough trauma for one day, we then took the coastal road to Lloret and Tossa at which point, no signal again, we decided enough is enough. Main road up to Llagostera and then down to Palamos. Luckily, we know this area so well it’s like coming home…where’s the wine?🍷🍷🍷Happy Birthday Mum! 🥂
