Yes, that’s its name – Å. Pronounced ‘Aw’ apparently. It’s the last stop at the bottom of the Lofoten Islands…end of the road.
Cloudy start this morning, which is a shame, as the main road followed the coast down through the last two islands and the clouds were cutting the tops off the mountains.

Stopped for coffee in Hamnoy, very beautiful, lots of ‘rorbuer’ (fisherman’s huts), that are now converted into holiday cabins.
Sakrisoya, a little further along the road, had a very expensive delicatessen and seafood shop. Guy tried some Lofoten seaweed seasoning – I thought he might be sick on the spot! 😂🤢The dried fish outside stacked up on a truck were quite striking…especially the ones with teeth!
Passed through Reine, other than stopping to use the services, as we plan to come back to it tomorrow, when it’s less busy. On to Å, a tiny place – like it’s name, but very pretty. We had a walk around, tempted by the fish museum but it was closed. Walked up on to the headland instead. Spectacular views – hoping for some 🌞tomorrow.
