We got up this morning to find tents and motorhomes all around us…considering we were just in a carpark by the beach, we think this place must be the main weekend attraction for Lofotonites. No wonder really, considering how beautiful it is.
We went straight to Leknes, the nearest town to try and get a replacement lens for Guy’s camera. No joy, Elkjøp was a Currys in disguise. The website said the shop had multiple lenses in but there were three, none of which fitted.
Did the food shopping instead.
As we are about to hit the most scenic part of the islands and he needs the right lens, Guy had the brainwave of driving back up to Svolvær to try their shops; so, off we went! It didn’t actually take that long, going straight through on the main E10 road. 091CDE30-0211-4FD5-ABE1-7D8AFF028E92
The plan worked. He found one. Not perfect, but suitable. Had lunch, then drove straight back down, through Leknes again and then on to the next island via a very long tunnel. Tried to stop in Ramberg, but no overnight parking. We managed a walk on the huge beach though, which was actually a bit of a jellyfish graveyard. Some as big as dinner plates! Maybe I don’t want a swim after all.1AE85C43-5A6E-4F32-8BCD-B22E0D3DC2EDD0F472DF-C7E7-4FF9-B659-37B8F6487D9EEE96D3B0-19B4-4625-81A6-AA7348F498F1
Moved on to another tiny island (Torvoya) over a bridge. They’re all more like Clifton Flyover with a view…very steep. Guy is poised, ready for the Saturday night wildlife action, new lens at the ready!!C7FD25EB-5770-45F4-91FB-22980C639611

Up and Down like YoYos!
