Short drive to Trujillo. We had a walk around the old town. It had a huge square with a few people demonstrating to nobody about pensions. Wandered up to the castle – you could see for miles all around and there were storks everywhere on the chimney pots. It was supposed to be 10 degrees but the wind was biting cold. Must be warmish usually here though, as there are Palm trees and oranges and lemons everywhere. D2924777-8513-44B2-86FD-F061CDCA4447
We drove south then to Merida which is chock full of Roman remains. We walked miles to see the aqueduct and bridge which were both really impressive. The aqueduct was really tall, and again, full of storks nesting on the top.
Not many places to stay in Merida so we’ve come to Badajoz which is near the Portuguese border. Got fab parking near another old bridge – the photographer has been out with his tripod to get some evening shots for your delectation 😉.9FF74E30-06D7-4A07-84B0-8D4FE4F4BCE013DA1CAF-A660-4DB9-AC31-DAD63D5AB54B
