Had a bit of a Sunday lie in. It was remarkably quiet to say we were parked next to a train line. Swiss trains are almost silent!
Retraced our steps along the valley back towards Martigny, but this time turning south for the Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard and the Italian border. A sweeping scalextric of road which Guy had to climb in first and second gear for most of the way – missing the oomph of 150hp!

At the top it was very windy and quite cool even in the sunshine. We went for a ‘walk’ around the lake which turned into more like Go-Ape for me 🙄

The change in people over the border is immediate – the clatter of Italian chatter everywhere and the speed at which everyone drives. More masks in evidence here too probably because the Italians have really been through it around here.
We wanted to stay at the top but there was no phone signal at all so came down the other side. Parked in a picnic spot a few miles from Aosta – still blowing a gale down here though!
