When we woke up this morning it was -5 degrees! ❄️😱Guy had been up twice in the night to make sure Rufus was covered up. Fortunately the engine started and we were able to warm the van up quickly. Everything was working ok so maybe we are in a fully winterised motorhome – good job! Put fifty layers of clothes on and took the blinds down to find we’d parked in a school car park by mistake….oops! The proper spaces for motorhomes were about 100 yds away. The Spanish infrastructure looker afterers seem to do an amazing job considering there’s snow quite deep in places. As we set off along the B roads (B for bloody stupid) we encountered freezing fog and the temperature sank to -8! Still the roads had been completely cleared though which was amazing. Eventually we came out of it into a green/brown valley with a sigh of relief. We decided on a campsite for tonight in Logrono so that we can hook up to the electricity and have the heating on all night if necessary .😀 We didn’t realise we’d booked into the most expensive campsite in Spain! Very convenient for the town centre but thought he was joking when he said 28 euros …it’s only tiny, nothing special. Walked into Logrono early evening hoping to do the tapas thing but we were way too early to do it properly. We had a glass of Rioja and some really nice goats cheese thang but it was soooo cold. We decided it was impossible to do this as an outside thing (with Rufus) so gave up and came back for dinner. Just deciding on tomorrow’s plan.
