Up the motorway for a bit through many tunnels again this morning. We wanted to come back to Tropea for a couple of days as it’s so nice, but it meant going north to come back south! We know from three weeks ago that to cut directly across from the motorway is a nightmare so we played it safe and went the long way round. We spotted this campsite from the town high above and said we would come back and stay here for a week – it’ll be a couple of days in reality! We’re on a timescale now as the boys have booked their tickets to come out and see us in Rome on the 7th June….really looking forward to seeing them. Rufus came to the beach with us as it was cloudy and did the usual snoring competition with Guy. Walked up the steps to the town for a drink later. As we walked down one of the streets we had to ask a local what the smell was – there was an incredible perfume in the air. Turns out, it was Jasmine. Back at base for dinner, nursing our mosquito bites from the long grass yesterday. The Citronella candle is lit and it’s a biggun! 😬🔥
